International Activities

Danish legislation is increasingly influenced by the European Union, and EU legislation directly touches upon regional competences in several areas

Danish Regions' international activities are mainly focused on promoting Danish regional interest in the EU system, i.e. to ensure that EU legislation is drafted and adopted in a way to best suit the Danish regional competences and interests.

At a broader international level Danish Regions works to promote and spread information on regional democracy and self-government.

Danish Regions keeps close contact with sister organisations in other European countries, and corporate on common issues in order to strengthen the impact of regional and local statements and ideas.
