Labour Market and Employment Policy

Being an employer’s organisation Danish Regions has an interest in monitoring and influencing the EU-legislation in this area

Danish Regions seeks to monitor and influence the EU-legislation by taking part in the European Social Dialogue, and at the same time the organisation is actively engaged in the Danish and the European EU-legislation processes.

The EU working time directive has great importance to Danish Regions, due to the extensive impact the directive might have on the Danish and other healthcare systems. The Commission Green Paper on the European Workforce for Health has a high priority as well - in this case Danish Regions, among others, advocates the importance of ethical recruitment.

The Lisbon Strategy
The Lisbon Strategy for Growth and Jobs recognises regional and local authorities to be important actors for a successful implementation of the European strategy for growth and employment.

Danish Regions is actively engaged in the preparation, set up and revising of reform programmes and strategies - at regional, national and EU level.

Danish Regions works to increase focus on regional and local issues and initiatives in the EU Lisbon Strategy 2010+.
