Distribution of funding from Kvalitetsfonden

The Danish Government's expert panel on hospital investments makes recommendations to the Government regarding which projects should be given priority for funding from Kvalitetsfonden.

The expert panel recommended in 2008 and 2010 that the Government should give priority to a total of 16 construction projects through preliminary approval of funding. A preliminary approval for funding defines a construction budget for a given project. Between 2008 and 2010 the Government allocated a total of DKK 42.7 billion (2011 prices) to hospital construction projects in the form of preliminary approvals, based on recommendations from the expert panel.

The regions must then flesh out the project within the set budget and apply for final approval. Once final approval for funding has been given, the project plan is approved subject to a number of conditions

All 16 construction projects have received final approval for funding from Kvalitetsfonden.
